Meet Jefferson

March 12, 2014

Jefferson has been involved with Tel-Hi’s programs for the past two years and has developed leadership skills that he uses in his current position. He began as a Youth Employment Services (YES) intern, and then last year he was hired as one of three Teen Academy leaders who supervises and leads the newer interns. He says:

Tel-Hi has given me more skills than I could ever imagine. The organization has given me a chance to give back to my community through projects like Read Aloud, Breakfast for Books, Heart of Gold, and many others. YES has given me the opportunity to grow from being an intern to now being an Academy leader.

This year, while working at two different work sites at Tel-Hi, I led training workshops on communications and workplace job duties for all of our incoming interns, conducted interviews, and was still able to help manage the YES interns. Tel-Hi has helped me develop the skills of a leader and I owe much thanks to Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Center and all the staff for helping me grow into the young man I am now.
