Perennial Unity Mural

Completed August 2021

This mural was created through a partnership with TEL HI and City Studio--a project of the  San Francisco Art Institute. It was imagined by the whole TEL HI community and painted by kids and teens ages 4 to18 years old and community volunteers!

City Studio lead artists Oscar Lopez and Christopher Williams and TEL HI artist Jamon Tyus spearheaded the project. They were supported by teen artists Evelyn Guillermo, Elizabeth Wilson, Daria Chel, Haien Liang, Thomas Lin, Canita Huang, Ithzel Garcia, Lana Groom and Kaiqing Mo who also helped to conceptualize and produce this mural. The project was managed by Amy BerkSFAI's City Studio Director.
A big thanks to our sponsors Brown and Caldwell, SRT Consultants, Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), and San Francisco Unified School District.

Perennial Unity
Poem By Elizabeth Wilson, Teen Muralist Participant

A golden skyline

threads the sky

where winding fog intercepts

the earthly terrain.

In this city,

perennial unity

uplifts neighboring souls,

to the radiant sun

We are born

fluorescent eternal

to community,

the congruence sprouted

not by name, nor era

but in experience

We grow

urban ecosystems

from ashes

from cracks

from division

from isolation

Together, in Unity

We soar

boundless to hate,

bounded by Love

eternally unbroken

and heavenwards

with Transcendent Union

We are this City.
