Preschool Expands to Help More Families

August 5, 2014

TEL HI is thrilled to announce the opening of two brand new classrooms for its renowned preschool program this coming September. This expansion, combined with renovations to the existing facility, means TEL HI will be able to increase preschool enrollment by over 65 percent.

“This fall, we will be able to make the jump from serving 51 families to 87,” says executive director Nestor Fernandez. “Increasing our ability to help families in need is key to our mission, especially since our preschool has consistently had full enrollment, with a waiting list.”

Partnered with Hennessy Construction, TEL HI has been hard at work on renovations since June. Asian Neighborhood Design re-imagined the space to include new bathrooms, lighting fixtures, and hardwood floors. The new, state-of-the-art facility also minimizes the need for custodial activities and management, giving teachers more valuable time with students.

“These new classrooms and facility upgrades will give our students a high-quality environment where they can play, explore, and grow with their peers for many years to come,” says Fernandez.

TEL HI takes pride in its extensive history of maintaining one of the finest preschool programs in San Francisco. The full-time, year-round preschool serves families of all economic levels. Along with funding from San Francisco’s Low Income Investment Fund, TEL HI can now deepen its commitment to helping working families in need.
