Position: Galileo High School’s Futurama Site Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Programs
Work schedule: Full-Time M-F, 10:30-6:30 pm
Salary: $24.00 to $28.00 /hour and based on experience

Organizational Description: Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Center (TEL HI) is a nonprofit organization. TEL HI provides services and advocacy for SF residents. Focusing on low – moderate-income children, youth, families, and seniors, TEL HI creates and strengthens community bonds, provides health and wellness programs, and broadens educational and cultural experiences. With its diverse array of programs and services in multiple locations, TEL HI serves over 1000 people each day.

Position Overview: The Futurama Site Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of the after school program at Galileo including but not limited to: supervision of staff, relationship building with the students and the school’s administration, and the overall growth of the program’s academic & enrichment programs. This position will work closely with TEL HI’s Director of Programs to meet organizational and program-related short and long-term goals. This program is an ExCEL after school program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Serve as the primary point person for Futurama’s ExCEL after-school program at Galileo.
· Ensure the program complies with grant requirements including enrollment and participation targets.
· Develop and manage day-to-day programs and staff and relevant youth support services to ensure smooth service delivery to participants.
· Oversee student recruitment, enrollment, scheduling and registration procedures to meet program attendance goals.
· Recruit, hire and provide ongoing supervision and mentorship for program staff, contractors, and community partners, including performing regular evaluations and assessments.
· Ensure that programs provide inclusive learning experiences that are developmentally and culturally appropriate.
· Design and implement programs that encompass but are not limited to academic assistance, arts and recreation, STEAM, career exploration, and other enrichment activities.
· Conduct team meetings, both individual and as a team, design, and train all staff on safety plans, coordinate necessary training and conduct safety drills.
· Supervise program staff and uphold high job performance and accountability.
· Complete monthly program reports and additional reporting obligations when necessary.
· Plan and oversee the effective development and administration of programs and services.
· Work with the Director of Programs in preparing an annual program budget and monitor all expenditures to meet projections.
· Develop, oversee and maintain partnerships with community agencies and businesses.
· Attend relevant school district, city, collaborative and community meetings, and other meetings identified by the Director of Programs.
· Model appropriate and professional workplace behavior, a strong work ethic, and personal responsibility.
· Collaborate with other TEL HI staff to ensure alignment of activities across all programs and smooth service delivery to participants.
· Support TEL HI’s fundraising efforts as needed.
· Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Programs.

Qualifications:

· BA degree or AA degree plus relevant experience required.
· Bilingual in Spanish/English or Cantonese/English is preferred, but not required.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience working with challenging youth in a school and/or non-profit setting.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising staff in a school and/or non-profit setting.
· Experience with youth development and after school programming.
· Experience and dedication in working with and for underserved communities.
· Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; both written and oral.
· Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and do data analysis.
· Strong organizational skills such as record keeping, event planning, space scheduling and coordination, computer/internet use, and administrative skills.
· Ability to work independently and as a dynamic team member.
· DOJ, FBI, Child Abuse Index and TB clearance required.
