    CEO/Executive Director

    Nestor has been involved with Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Center since 2002, first as a volunteer, then as a board member, and since 2009 as a staff administrator. He has been a San Francisco resident for almost 40 years and earned his bachelor of science degree from San Francisco State University and his master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the University of San Francisco.

    Nestor is an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco, a public speaker on various business topics, and a youth basketball coach. He is actively involved with various public service organizations as a member, board member, and volunteer.

    As Development Director Yvonne works closely with the CEO, Board of Directors and Staff at TEL HI to develop and implement all areas of fundraising for the center. Yvonne joined TEL HI as a volunteer in April 2014 after a 20 year career in sales and project management. Yvonne had the desire to do something more meaningful and make a difference in people’s lives and in August 2014 she accepted the position of Development Director. She says of her first day at TEL HI, “from the minute I walked through the front gates and saw the kids on the playground I was hooked and I knew that this was where I wanted to work”.  She loves engaging with TEL HI’s supporters, staff, board of directors, and clients to create a culture of fundraising at TEL HI!

    Ruchira has been with TEL HI since 2007. She holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce and a master’s degree in business administration/finance. She passed the CPA
    exams in February of 2016. Ruchira did volunteer work in India before relocating to the United States. She enjoys contributing her financial skills to an organization that makes a difference in people’s lives.

    Director of North Beach-Chinatown Beacon Center & TEL HI Programs

    Jora was hired in 2010 to lead the new Youth Employment Services program. Previously she served as Senior Program Director with Oakland Asian Students Educational Services and as an After-School Learning Site Coordinator with Mission Learning Center and the San Francisco Unified School District.

    Jora is proud to have been an AmeriCorps volunteer for two years, where she worked with and coached SFUSD teachers to improve their classroom practice. She has also been involved with the Youth Development Peer Network/Youth Worker Collective as a Steering Committee member and was selected as one of 50 statewide Peer Mentors for California Afterschool Network’s Statewide Mentoring Project.

    She grew up in the Philippines and Los Angeles and holds a bachelor’s degree in Italian with a minor in linguistic anthropology from UCLA. She enjoys creating engaging, relevant programming for young people.

    Melody has been involved with TEL HI since second grade – first as a program participant, then as a volunteer as she attended Francisco Middle School, then as an employee while a student at Galileo High School. Melody attended U.C. Irvine and would come back every summer to work in the preschool and summer camps. Upon graduating from college Melody was hired as TEL HI’s Senior Program and Volunteer Manager, a position she excelled. Melody now oversees the After School Academy (ASA), Senior Program, as well as the Garden and Nutrition Program.

    Connie graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Family Consumer Science with a concentration in Child Development. She received her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix with a concentration in International Business. Connie also completed the UCLA Johnson & Johnson Management Fellowship Program. Connie has extensive work experience in early childhood education.  Connie came to TEL HI in 2014 with over 18 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. She held many different positions including working as a teacher, site supervisor, center director, interim Operations Manager at the City College of San Francisco Child Development Centers and San Francisco State University Head Start Program. Connie’s passion and area of expertise lies in working with children and families of diverse economic, cultural, social and linguistic backgrounds. Connie is trilingual; she speaks English, Cantonese and Vietnamese.
