TEL HI Marks 14 Years of Community Partnership at Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day Event

April 24, 2025

On April 8, 2025, TEL HI celebrated more than just sweet treats—it celebrated 14 years of meaningful collaboration at Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day! Hosted at the scoop shops on Fisherman’s Wharf and the Argonaut Hotel, the event was a joyful reminder of the power of community. With music filling the air, sprinkles  flying, and laughter all around, San Franciscans came together for a scoop of their favorite flavor—and a chance to give back. It was more than just ice cream; it was a celebration of connection, generosity, and shared impact

Thanks to generous donations and scoop-loving supporters, TEL HI raised over $4,000 to support essential programs for children, seniors, and families throughout the city. From early childhood education to senior wellness, every cone served helped fund vital community services.

This incredible day wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our amazing partners and volunteers. Huge thanks to Ben & Jerrys scoop shops at the  Fisherman’s Wharf and the Argonaut Hotel for hosting and making this event a yearly tradition for TEL HI.

We also want to express our heartfelt gratitude to:

  • Turner & Townsend
  • Preschool parents from both our North Beach and Mission Bay programs
  • Academy of Art University
  • North Beach Neighbors
  • McCarthy Building Co Team
  • North Beach Business Association
  • TEL HI Board Members & Staff
  • USF THETA Sorority
  • District 3 Supervisor Danny Sauter and his team
  • And many others!

And of course, to all the volunteers who scooped with smiles and kept the crowd happy—thank you for your energy, warmth, and hard work.

Here’s to more joy, more scoops, and more community-driven magic next year!

In addition to the main Free Cone Day, TEL HI also hosted a mini Free Cone Day on April 22 at our Mission Bay campus, raising money to support of the Mission Bay Infant Toddler Preschool Parent Advisory Committee. The event was open to Mission Bay families, residents, and local business employees, who stopped by to enjoy a free scoop and support early childhood education.

Thanks to ice cream donated by Ben & Jerry’s, and the enthusiastic efforts of Mission Bay preschool parents who collected donations and served cones, the event brought neighbors together and highlighted the importance of accessible, high-quality care for our youngest learners.
