Why You Wouldn’t Want To Miss “A Taste of Tel Hi 2018”

A Taste of Tel Hi is Tel Hi’s biggest annual fundraising event. It brings together business leaders, civic-minded individuals, local politicians and people from all walks of life for an inspiring and fun evening. Funds raised during this night go towards serving the needs of children, youth, families, and seniors in the North Beach, Fisherman’s Wharf, and Chinatown communities.

Telegraph Hill Neighbourhood Center (TEL HI), is a nonprofit organization known for its contributions to San Francisco by providing quality programs and services. For precisely 128 years, our organization has enhanced the lives of the people living in the community.

This year, all proceeds raised will go towards TEL HI’s after school program at Galileo Academy of Science and Technology. TEL HI currently provides over a 100 high school students a day with resources, support, and guidance that encourages leadership, increases academic performance, promotes identity development, and teaches essential life skills to prepare students for higher education.  Due to lost funding, TEL HI is being forced to cut this program starting next year. Without an after school program, many of the youth at Galileo will have nowhere to go to receive tutoring, access to extracurricular activities and access to an emotional support system in the forms of clubs, alliances and social groups.

Last year’s TASTE OF TEL HI was successful due to the generosity of supporters, friends, and partners who contributed in various ways by attending the event, bidding on a silent or live auction item or participating in Fund a Need, all of which helps TEL HI better the lives of the people in our community. Here are some picture extracts from last year’s event.
