Start Your Engine-ering! 🏁
TEL HI’s Beacon Summer Program at Francisco Middle School brought creativity and teamwork to life during its Second Annual Cardboard Derby (5th Annual Cardboard Madness Event) on Tuesday, July 21, 2026!
Over four weeks, middle school students worked in teams to design and build derby cars using cardboard and other recycled materials. Through the process, they strengthened engineering, problem-solving, and collaboration skills while turning their ideas into 10 one-of-a-kind race cars that raced down Francisco Street on race day!
