Kids

During the school year, children entering kindergarten–5th grade can attend TEL HI’s After School Academy (ASA). Summer Camp is available to support kids and their families during summer break. Both programs provide academic support, enrichment, and recreation for children from all walks of life.

Kids comprise nearly one-half of the 600+ people we see daily (that includes ASA, Summer Camp, and our Beacon Center programs). Last year TEL HI served approximately 300 children, with over 60 percent receiving financial aid from us. Our staff provided approximately 294,000 hours of service toward kids programs. That includes

  • 115,000 hours of tutoring and academic support activities
  • 76,000 hours of art, music, and cultural activities
  • 102,000 hours of sports, recreation, and other physical activities
