New Staff and Board Members Represent Growth

August 26, 2014

The word “grow” means a lot at TEL HI. It’s not uncommon to see multiple generations within a family grow up here. The center’s continued growth also allows us to serve more families in the community. And naturally, as TEL HI grows, our board of directors and staff will too.

This year we welcome four new members to our board of directors: Fady Zoubi (assistant vice president/manager, US Bank); Dan Hernandez (owner, Professional Computer Support); Sanford Marshall (owner, SanMan Productions); and Judy Giampaoli (former SFUSD school principal and current director of School Outreach Program, University of San Francisco). Since 2010, TEL HI has more than doubled its number of active board members. This accomplishment continues to build valuable relationships and resources for TEL HI. With the growth of the center’s preschool program, TEL HI has also hired new staff. We are happy to announce Connie Luu as our new preschool manager. Connie’s extensive background in early childhood education began in 1999 and reflects her passion for her work. With the opening of two new classrooms, Connie has had her hands full, hiring new teachers as we expand our preschool program.

“I have devoted my talents, knowledge, and career toward enhancing the academic knowledge of our future generations,” Luu shares. “I am very excited to be a part of the expansion of TEL HI’s preschool program.”

With Connie and TEL HI’s new board members, we look forward to the coming year. Of course, we’d also like to thank those board members who have completed their term of service. The following members will be leaving the board this year: Claire Carlevaro, Sue Yen Milton, and Natalie Valdez-Smith. These individuals helped lead TEL HI’s recent growth, leaving an everlasting legacy that will continue to inspire our community!
